Dates & Times: Starting June 9 – July 31.
Tuesdays’: Moving and Exploring: Ages 3 & 4 years old, 45 minute class 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday’s: Junior Gym and Swim: Ages 7 – 12 years old, 60 minute class@ 6:30 p.m.
Thursday’s: Parent and Child Gym: Ages 12 mos – 35 months, 45 minute class 6:30 p.m.

This is where our youngest members are introduced to our creative climbing equipment. Here they playfully learn to move over, under, through, around and on apparatus in a safe manner. The main focus of this course is to increase the child’s body awareness and a sense of his/her surroundings in terms of sharing space. The parent learns to become the facilitator of the child’s movement discoveries. We require one adult per child enrolled in this class. For safety reasons siblings are not permitted in the instruction area. Parent and Child Gym
This course is a fun way of furthering a parent/child relationship while the child develops balance, locomotion, strength, and flexibility. Through the introduction of simple directions, rules, and routines, the child develops listening skills and a sense of organization. We require one adult per child enrolled in this class. For safety reasons siblings are not permitted in the instruction area. Parent and Child Play Gym Combo
Climb and Splash
30 minutes of learning rolling, pre-cartwheels, simple vaults, locomotion skills in different directions, swinging, balancing, and weight transfer on and off our specialized equipment. Then 30 minutes of splash time in the pool. Drop off in Kids Fitness Center , participants must be dressed in swim suits, pick up is at the wading pool. Gym slippers required.
Moving and Exploring
This class is for the child that demonstrates independence from the parent, has an adequate attention span and the ability to follow simple directions. Children learn to accomplish rolling, pre-cartwheels, simple vaults, hopping, jumping, landing, leaping, locomotion in different directions, swinging, balancing, and weight transfer on and off our specialized equipment. Gym slippers required.
Movin’ and Groovin’
This is a program for children whose curiosity provides the motivation for learning. Our unique equipment set-ups and teaching technique, allow participants to challenge themselves both physically and mentally. Children work on spatial awareness, listening skills and the form and technique needed to conquer more difficult movement challenges. Gym slippers required.
Special Play Groups
Form your own playgroup gym. Bring your friends and join in the fun at Gerstung. Come jump, swing, climb and roll with your child. No instruction given. 1-1/2 hours.
Babysitter CPR Program: Baby Sitter’s CPR and First Aid By: Laurie Ferguson

Creative Dance Level 1
A dance class that introduces basic ballet positions and steps. The class also includes stretches, coordination skill development, and fun dances using props. Parental viewing unavailable.

Junior Gym and Swim
30 minutes of climbing, exploring while working on coordination, flexibility, strength and cardio conditioning. Then 30 minutes of activities and cardio in the pool. Classes begin in the Kids Fitness Center ; participants must be dressed in swim suits.
Junior Power Hour
This is a fitness class for kids utilizing cross training techniques. The experience offers unique equipment and a variety of exercise forms, to challenge and boost cardio and muscular endurance, increase strength and improve flexibility, while the participants exercise and have fun.
Hip Hop Dance
One hour of movement where children will learn expressive movements through current dance sensations and popular music while working on coordination and flexibility. Parental viewing unavailable.

NEW CLASS! Healthy Junior Fitness Challenge
Taught by a physical education teacher, children will be challenged to improve their own fitness levels through a variety of individual and cooperative activities that will build confidence and self esteem. Through adventurous activities such as leaping over rivers and “escaping” from Paradise Island ; jumping rope, dancing, tumbling, and developing ball skills, children will become healthier physically, mentally, socially and emotionally. Classes will include discussions about healthy eating habits.
