Big Vanilla Pasadena Health Tips
Make sure to eat something right after a workout. Your body needs dietary protein and glucose because your muscles start rebuilding itself minutes after a workout. Try a low sugar/high protein shake or bar such as Muscle Milk Lite, Myoplex products, or Detour bars. Make sure that whatever you eat that it has a mixture of sugar and protein. By doing this, you will be less likely to binge on your next meal and thus, save unwanted calories.

Don’t for get to warm up and cool down. Warming up is going to get your body ready to exercise by increasing body temperature and increasing blood flow to the muscles. Choose an activity that will use the same muscles that you will use in your work out. Cooling down is going to return your body back to pre- exercise state by decreasing heart rate and will decrease your risk of muscle soreness or muscle injury. Also don’t forget to stretch. Stretching will bring muscles back to original resting length, and it will help increase flexibility and improve range of motion at the joints.
Nicole Miller, CPT
