Master James P. Sherman
There are many reasons why people study martial arts; self-defense, self-discipline, and exercise are just a few. Martial Arts provides these things and much more. As you progress, you will develop skills and self-confidence that will carry into many facets of your life. SMAART
Sherman’s Martial Arts Aggression Response Training is a realistic self defense program with certifications specifically designed for Women - “SMAART Women”, Children - “SMAART Kids”, or Families - “SMAART Family”. These courses teach not only practical self defense methods but also include how to deal with confrontation through adrenaline stress conditioning.
Private Lessons
One-on-one instruction for those that are just too busy to come to our martial arts classes or for those that would like to improve their existing martial arts techniques. All private lessons are 30 minutes long and are scheduled by appointment only.
Lil Dragons I
This is a 35-minute class designed for children that do not have the maturity to attend our youth program. It places more emphasis on building self esteem and confidence skills than technical martial arts moves. This class allows children to socialize and learn skills necessary for transition into school.
Youth Program
This 50-minute class begins with warm-up exercises that prepare the body for vigorous demands placed on it while practicing martial arts. A variety of drills and contests are used to improve skills and coordination. Classes are designed to emphasize goal setting, achievement, and reward. Students are encouraged to attend class at least two days a week.
Combat Hapkido
Combat Hapkido is an extremely realistic and versatile discipline of self-protection that includes an extensive variety of joint locks, pressure points, grappling, and disarming techniques. Combat Hapkido’s dynamic concepts are based on scientific principles of anatomy and bio-kinetics as well as psychology and strategy.
Mixed Martial Arts
This program is designed to teach the fundamentals of kickboxing, JuJitsu, Aikido, and Combat Hapkido. Class will be a rigorous workout that includes: heavy bag, speed bag, double end striking bag, focus pads, stretching, ground grappling and sparring. *Proper safety equipment needed for sparring.
Family Class
Come and enjoy any of our programs together in one class for the whole family.
There is a one-time registration fee of $149 for all martial arts programs. All registrations take place in the Martial Arts Studio.
